    Description

    1891 U.S. Assay Medal, Copper MS65 Brown NGC. JK-AC-34. Treasury Secretary William Windom died on January 29, 1891, and his memory is honored on the obverse. The reverse depicts a bearded artist at work with a passing resemblance to Augustus Saint-Gaudens. A lovely Gem with olive-green and mahogany-brown toning. Faint spots are confined to the shoulder and eyebrow of Windom.
