    Description

George V Penny 1930, KM23, VF35 PCGS, an attractive example of this rare date with original brown surfaces and just a few small contact marks including one behind the King's eye. The central diamond on the crown band is weak but visible while the two pearls to the left are worn. Far superior to most specimens of this date. This coin was acquired by the consignor in a most unusual manner. After purchasing an old British style World War I military uniform, the consignor found this coin in one of the pockets. After considerable research the name on the collar, Brady, was proven to be an Australian soldier who served with valor from 1915-21, Second Lieutenant Vincent John Joseph Brady. Perhaps this was his "lucky penny."

The outcome of the auction far exceeded my best hopes and would not likely have been as successful with out your sound advice on where to present the coin and how best to set the reserve. Throughout the process your availability , support and knowledge were exceptional.
