Description

George V Proof "Old Parliament House" Florin 1927-(m) PR66 NGC, Melbourne mint, KM31. Mintage: 400. Opening of Parliament House, Canberra. An exquisite Gem Proof specimen of this much desired commemorative issue. Commercial strikes of this type are widely available in practically any desired state of preservation, but these rare Proof types seldom surface for public auction outside of Australia. Reflective as one might expect, the surfaces are also rather pleasingly toned, with instances of pastel color on each side. On the lower reverse, that tone intensifies a bit and is more russet in appearance. The strike is pinpoint and no marks or careless handling are observed. Altogether, a coin that is certain to bring great pleasure to its next owner.
