    Description

Victoria gold Proof "Melbourne International Exhibition" Medal 1888 PR63 Cameo NGC, Melbourne mint. 39mm. 46.1gm. By Stokes & Martin S.G. Awarded to Hy Disston & Sons, engraved on edge. A charming Australian medal, Victoria's portrait performed in the style of her contemporary Jubilee coinage except with a wider crown (the Queen herself did not like the ridiculously small coronet perched on her head on the circulating coins). Some minor marks, an edge scratch to the reverse, otherwise attractive and with no evidence of improper handling.
