Victoria gold "Shield" Sovereign 1885-S MS64+ NGC, Sydney mint, KM6. Bright tone accompanies breathtaking satiny luster on both sides and the strike leaves every detail, from Victoria's hair curls to the reverse shield, razor sharp. As the grade suggests, only the slightest instances of contact appear over the surfaces. Very rare quality overall, this coin is presently the single finest example of the Sydney Mint/Shield sovereigns to appear in the combined NGC or PCGS censuses.
