Description
Republic gold 100 Kronen 1923 MS62 NGC, Vienna mint, KM2831, Fr-518. A short, two-year type, this date is by far the rarer of the two, with a mintage of just 617 pieces. Accordingly, its not an exaggeration to say that only a scant few have remained at this near-choice level of preservation. Lustrously prooflike, it has developed a charming golden-orange hue and a number of friction marks consistent with the grade assigned. For completeness, a light scratch just below the denomination is noted. A similar example, also graded NGC MS62, realized a hammer of $3,500 in our 2011 Long Beach auction (sale 3015, lot 23576).Metal: Gold
