Description

Possible Specimen Strike

1892-O MS 64 Possible Specimen Strike. A simply amazing coin that is sure to excite every dime specialist. Some 3,841,700 dimes were minted in New Orleans in 1892, but it is difficult to imagine that any could be nicer than this. The fields are mirrorlike, the devices frosty, and every detail stands out sharply. The coin is bathed in iridescent toning, light lilac in the centers, tending to deeper lilac, gold, and green at the periphery. We note a few hairlines under the toning upon the closest examination, which probably account for the grade. A coin not to be missed.
