Colorful Gem 1893-O Dime
1893-O 10C MS65 NGC. From a modest original mintage of 1.76 million coins comes this absolutely gorgeous Gem Barber dime. The 1893-O was not preserved in significant numbers, and most Mint State survivors grade no finer than Choice. The present example is sharply struck, and reveals minimally abraded lustrous surfaces. Dappled olive-gray patina competes with touches of reddish-gold at the margins, while the reverse is a mix of golden-orange and mottled lavender and olive coloration. Census: 9 in 65, 9 finer (10/08).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23DR, PCGS# 4801, GSID# 4349)
