Description

Gorgeous 1893-O Barber Dime, MS65 NGC

1893-O 10C MS65 NGC. From a modest original mintage of 1.76 million coins comes this absolutely gorgeous Gem Barber dime. The 1893-O was not preserved in significant numbers, and most Mint State survivors grade no finer than Choice BU. NGC and PCGS combined have certified only 14 MS65's, with 15 graded higher. The present example is sharply struck, and reveals minimally abraded lustrous surfaces. Dappled light to medium green patina competes with touches of reddish-gold at the margins, while the reverse is a mix of golden-orange and mottled lavender and medium green coloration. Population: 6 in 65, 6 finer (12/04).(#4801) (Registry values: N2998)
