Description

1893-O Barber Dime, MS66
Exceptionally Preserved New Orleans Coin

1893-O 10C MS66 PCGS. Ex: Lily Nicole Collection. The obverse has acquired blue-gray patina that shows vivid shades of green, cobalt-blue, and purple when held at the proper angle. The reverse remains mostly brilliant with a layer of light golden-gray color. The impression is a touch soft over Liberty's forecurl, headband, and the lower wreath, characteristic of nearly all O-mint products from this period. This is a better date in the series with a relatively low mintage of 1.7 million coins and a high rate of attrition. Population: 10 in 66 (1 in 66+), 4 finer (5/17).(Registry values: N2998)
