Description
1894 Dime, Boldly Struck MS65
Outstanding Eye Appeal
1894 10C MS65 NGC. Cobalt-blue, lavender, and orange-gold
peripheral toning frames the white central area on the obverse,
while deep bluish-gray reverse fields highlight near-white devices.
A modest cameo effect is apparent on the reverse. Boldly struck
design elements and nicely preserved surfaces round out the
outstanding eye appeal.Population Data (9/15): NGC reports 22 submitted in MS65 (one MS65 ★ ) and 13 finer. PCGS shows 24 and 12 in comparable levels.
Heritage Commentary: The 1894 dime saw a mintage exceeding 1.3 million pieces. This issue circulated widely well into the 20th century, leaving most survivors well-worn. Mint State examples can be located with some searching, mostly through near-Gem. Gems are quite scarce, and higher-grade pieces are rare. While not the finest-graded 1894, the eye appeal of this coin is certain to engender spirited bidding.
