1894-O Dime, Patinated MS64
An Important Key Date

1894-O 10C MS64 PCGS. CAC. Bluish-green and golden-tan patination bathes the lustrous surfaces of this near-Gem O-mint dime, deeper on the reverse. The design elements are well-struck, a characteristic of most 1894-O dimes. Close examination reveals no significant marks on either side. Housed in a prior generation holder.

Population Data (9/15): PCGS reports 10 submissions in MS64 (one MS64+) and 10 finer. NGC shows four pieces in MS64 and two finer -- one MS65 and one MS67.

Heritage Commentary: The 1894-O, from a mintage of 720,000 pieces, is a semikey in lower grades and a key date in AU and above. David Lawrence assigns a rarity rating of R.6 in MS64 and finer.
