    Description

    1895-O Barber Dime, MS64
    Purchased Directly From the O-Mint
    Ex: Clapp-Eliasberg

1895-O 10C MS64 PCGS. CAC. Ex: Eliasberg. This 1895-O dime was sold two lots after Louis Eliasberg's 1894-S dime. Aside from being one of the best-preserved examples of this conditionally challenging New Orleans issue, it enjoys an illustrious pedigree that can be traced directly to its production at the Louisiana branch mint. Splashes of iridescence are intermixed with the dominant golden patina that gently complements the satiny surfaces of this spectacular near-Gem dime. The corn kernels and upper-left wheat stalks are boldly struck. Minor marks are noted on the obverse, as is a clash mark in the field right of the neck. Population: 9 in 64 (1 in 64+), 12 finer. CAC: 2 in 64, 8 finer (11/18).
Ex: Purchased directly from the New Orleans Mint by John M. Clapp (10/1905); John H. Clapp; Clapp Estate; Louis E. Eliasberg, Sr. via Stack's (1942); Eliasberg Collection (Bowers and Merena, 5/1996), lot 1252.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# C4KL, PCGS# 4807)

    Weight: 2.49 grams
