Description

1895-O Barber Dime, Toned MS64
Scarcest in Uncirculated Grades

1895-O 10C MS64 PCGS. The mintage of 440,000 business strikes goes a long way toward explaining the #1 rarity in mint condition of the 1895-O. When the numbers are combined from both of the major services, there have been only 17 certification events at the MS64 level, followed by another 17 in Gem and finer condition. The mint luster on this example is bright and satiny, readily apparent even through the somewhat deep gray central toning and blue peripheries. As with most 1895-O dimes, the striking details are unusually sharp on this piece. Close examination shows a couple of light abrasions, but none that warrant individual mention. Population: 7 in 64, 11 finer (9/11).(Registry values: N4719)
