Description

Gem 1895-O Barber Dime
Key New Orleans Issue

1895-O 10C MS65 NGC. The 1895-O Barber dime is a sought-after key date, from a mintage of just 440,000 pieces. In Mint State condition, the 1895-O is the rarest collectible date in the Barber dime series (excluding the 1894-S), although a few issues are more elusive at the Gem level. Recent auction appearances include the spectacular MS65 PCGS example in lot 433 of the Houston Signature Auction (Heritage, 12/2009) which realized $20,700.
This delightful Gem displays sharply detailed design elements and satiny mint luster under attractive shades of gold, gray, and cobalt-blue toning. The surfaces are well-preserved and eye appeal is extraordinary. Census: 5 in 65, 1 finer (11/11).(Registry values: N4719)
