    Description

    1896-O Barber Dime, MS65
    Underappreciated in Gem Condition

1896-O 10C MS65 NGC. While the 1895-O (and in the bigger picture, the 1894-S, as well) receives the lion's share of promoters' attention, the 1896-O Barber dime is itself a significant semikey, and in high grades, every bit a rarity as its counterpart of a year before. This Gem example delivers soft, glowing luster with minimal toning to inhibit the cartwheel effect -- only a uniform golden hue graces each side. Striking definition is pleasing and we find no mentionable abrasions. Census: 6 in 65, 6 finer (4/15).(Registry values: N4719)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23DZ, PCGS# 4810)
