Description
1896-S Barber Dime, MS66
None Finer at NGC
1896-S 10C MS66 NGC. The 1896-S is a low-mintage issue with
just 575,056 pieces produced. Since few people preserved branch
mint Barber coinage in the 1890s, virtually the entire mintage
entered circulation. Today, Mint State coins are rare at all levels
of preservation. An extraordinary Premium Gem, this Condition
Census specimen is untoned save for the lightest blushes of golden
color here and there. Intense cartwheel luster effects highlight
the sharp, virtually blemish-free surfaces. Census: 9 in 66 (1 in
66+), 0 finer (8/23).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2002), lot 5619; Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2018), lot 3232.(Registry values: N4719)
