Description

1896-S Barber Dime, MS66+
None Known Finer, CAC

1896-S 10C MS66+ PCGS. CAC. Dime coinage in San Francisco in 1896 barely topped 575,000 coins, and this issue is proportionately scarce in Mint State. The present high-end Premium Gem is among the finest known at PCGS and NGC (although NGC reports one MS66+ in Prooflike) and is one of three at this level with CAC endorsement (1/26). Ample luster rolls over frosty surfaces with just a tilt of the coin in-hand, and the design elements are fully rendered. Lovely lavender, rose, sky-blue, and sun-gold adorn each side.
