Patinated Prooflike MS66 1896-S Dime
1896-S 10C MS66 Prooflike NGC. Beautifully patinated in peach-gold and powder-blue. Well struck with smooth surfaces and noticeable field reflectivity. The third-lowest mintage of the series, trailing only the key 1895-O and the non-collectible 1894-S. As of (7/09), NGC has certified only three examples as Prooflike across all grades. NGC has yet to grade any 1896-S dimes above MS66, with or without a Prooflike designation.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23E2, PCGS# 4811, GSID# 4356)
