1896-S MS 63. A scarce and underrated issue that rates a high R.4 in mint state, and compares favorably to the 1896-O and '97-O, but does not bring the premium these dates do because of their widespread recognition. This fully struck coin has deep, mottled blue, mauve, and rose toning over both sides with good underlying luster.
