Description
Gem Toned 1896-S Dime
1896-S MS 65 NGC. One of the scarcer dates in this series, just as it is in virtually every other denomination. This is one of only 3 examples graded MS 65 by NGC (4/95), with only 3 finer, all MS 66s. Both sides of this piece are toned in a variegated blend of rose, violet, and steel-blue colors. Sharply struck and lustrous, with a high degree of eye appeal seldom encountered on this date.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23E2, PCGS# 4811, GSID# 4356)
