Elusive Toned Gem 1897-O Barber Dime
1897-O 10C MS65 PCGS. The 1894-O through 1897-O Barber dimes are a well-known quartet of rarities within the series. This Gem example displays deep orange-gold toning on both sides, with lighter lilac accents on the obverse high points. The strike is better-executed than normally seen, with good separation at the leaves and forehead and only minor reverse weakness on the venation of the large oak leaf at lower left.
