1897-O Dime, Conditionally Rare MS67+
Above-Average Strike
1897-O 10C MS67+ PCGS. CAC. Ex: Lily Nicole Collection. The
1897-O has one of the lower production figures for the Barber dime
series (666,000 pieces). That said, Mint State examples can be
located with a degree of searching, especially through near-Gem.
Superb Gems, on the other hand, are condition rarities. PCGS and
NGC show a combined seven coins in MS67, including this solitary
MS67+.A melange of soft violet-gray, sky-blue, beige-orange, and gold patination drapes the lustrous surfaces. The design features are well-struck, better so than often seen on this issue, and impeccable preservation is evident over each side. Population: 5 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer (2/15).
