Description
1897-S Dime, Gem Uncirculated
Speckled Toning, Bright Mint Luster
1897-S 10C MS65 PCGS. The 1897-S is much scarcer than its
mintage of 1.3 million pieces might indicate, and it is especially
challenging in Gem. This is a speckled golden-brown and blue-toned
example that exhibits strong underlying mint luster. The reverse
fields are semireflective, the result of die polishing seen across
the center of that side. Sharply defined throughout. Population: 10
in 65, 6 finer (7/12).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23E5, PCGS# 4814, GSID# 4358)
Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
