Description
Wonderful MS66 1897-S Barber Dime
1897-S 10C MS66 PCGS. Ex: Duckor. A fully brilliant Premium Gem example with no toning of any sort. The surfaces are remarkably pleasing and free of defects. Both sides have extensive die polish in the fields, imparting a strong prooflike appearance. In this instance, the die polishing lines are actually visible without magnification. The devices have frosty luster, with the entire obverse and reverse having a lovely cameo appearance. All design elements are either exceptionally sharp or fully defined. It is this quality that, in days gone by, was called "Proof" or at least "Semi-Proof," a term that legendary Fort Worth, Texas coin dealer B. Max Mehl was quite fond of. Population: 5 in 66, 1 finer (4/09).From The Mark Miller Registry Set of Barber Dimes.(Registry values: N4719)
