Description
1899 Dime, MS66
Beautiful Type Coin
1899 10C MS66 PCGS. CAC. Peach-orange, violet, and
blue-green toning, indicative of long-term storage in an old-time
collection, generates fantastic eye appeal. This Premium Gem is
fully struck with no individual marks of note. A heavy die crack
joins the upper-left reverse rim to the left wheat sheaf.Population Data (9/15): There are 17 MS66 (one MS66+) submissions at PCGS with four finer, while NGC has seen six Premium Gems and four finer.
Heritage Commentary: With a production exceeding 19.5 million coins, the 1899 is among the most available dates in the Barber dime series. The issue only becomes challenging in this high grade, making this an ideal coin for type purposes.
