Description
1899-O Dime, Rare MS67
One of Four Known in This Grade
1899-O 10C MS67 PCGS. Ex: Lily Nicole Collection. The 1899-O
Barber dime is surprisingly scarce considering the mintage exceeds
2.6 million pieces. David Lawrence (1991) assigns a high R.5 rarity
rating to mint condition coins. PCGS and NGC have seen about 110
examples in Uncirculated condition, and a mere four submissions
grade MS67, that of the present offering.A subtle blend of reddish-brown and gold around the borders frames the silver-gray centers. The design elements are sharply defined, though the right reverse bow is a tad soft, as often seen. Neither side reveals mentionable contact marks. Population: 2 in 67, 0 finer (2/15).
