Description
Entrancing 1901-O Barber Dime, MS66
1901-O 10C MS66 PCGS. Ex: Duckor. Although perhaps not as elusive and underrated as the 1900-O, this issue has its own degree of rarity. The obverse is fully brilliant, with frosty silver surfaces and prooflike fields. The reverse has a smooth, satiny, lustrous appearance, with light champagne toning. This piece is much more sharply struck than most survivors, although some weakness is visible within the lower wreath details. The obverse fields have extensive die polishing lines, creating the prooflike appearance that surrounds the frosty Liberty. The mintmark is finely doubled; the nearby wreath details are also doubled, a result of machine doubling at the time this example was struck. Population: 8 in 66, 1 finer (4/09).From The Mark Miller Registry Set of Barber Dimes.(Registry values: N4719)
