Description

1901-O 10C MS 64 NGC. The 1901-O (5.6 million pieces produced) suffered the same fate as most other O-mint issues in the Barber dime series: heavy circulation. Few of these coins survived in Mint State, let alone with surfaces that are smooth enough to warrant a near-Gem grade. On the other hand, this attractive example does not reveal any abrasions that would seem to rule out an MS 65 designation. Both sides are fully lustrous with rich crimson-champagne toning that yields to golden-gray hues over the central reverse.
