Description

1901-S Barber Dime, MS67
CAC Approved Registry Grade Example

1901-S 10C MS67 PCGS. CAC. The 1901-S is an intriguing lower-mintage Barber dime issue. In an article published in the September 13, 1999 edition of Coin World, Paul Gilkes suggests that a number of San Francisco issues, including the 1901, "might carry higher price tags, but specimens are usually available." Of course, at the MS67 level, all bets are off: PCGS has graded just five MS67 pieces (including one in 67+) and none finer (1/20). This gorgeous piece, carefully preserved and satiny, offers a lovely blend of pale silver-blue, dusky gold-orange, and rose toning. A memorable opportunity for the Barber dime collector. Population: 5 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer. CAC: 3 in 67, 0 finer (1/20).
