Description

Underrated 1902-O Dime, MS66

1902-O 10C MS66 NGC. The recently published Collecting and Investing Strategies for Barber Dimes by Jeff Ambio suggests that the 1902-O is not only among the rarest Barber dime issues in high grades (MS65 or finer)--specifically, fourth of 74--but that it is rarer than even the 1895-O and underrated (and undervalued) in MS65-MS67. This satiny Premium Gem shows just a suggestion of golden peripheral color over silver-white surfaces. Minor strike weakness appears on the upper right wreath tip on the reverse, but this piece appears to be a single tiny tick on Liberty's cheek away from possibly meriting an even finer grade. Census: 3 in 66, 1 finer (9/09).(Registry values: N4719)
