Description

1903-O Barber Dime, MS67
Sole Finest Certified

1903-O 10C MS67 NGC. Violet-gray patina overall reveals olive-gold and ice-blue accents when held at the proper angle. The strike definition is excellent for a New Orleans coin, though the usually seen incompleteness occurs on the hair above Liberty's forehead. The reverse wreath is expertly detailed throughout, and a few ticks that prevent an even higher grade are well-hidden beneath the toning.

Population Data (3/15): This is the sole finest example at NGC by a full two points. PCGS reports four MS66 (one in MS66+) and none finer.

Heritage Commentary: This is a somewhat scarcer date in the series in all grades, despite an unremarkable mintage of nearly 8.2 million coins. What is remarkable is that this is the single finest certified survivor. Expect significant interest from Registry Set enthusiasts.

Provenance: Purchased from U.S. Coins (4/2008).(Registry values: N7079)
