Description

1903-S Barber Dime, MS66
Multicolor Key-Date Representative

1903-S 10C MS66 NGC. Central cobalt-blue toning yields to violet, green, and orange peripheral color on each side, eliminating any doubt as to the originality of the surfaces. The wreath is fully struck, and the only indication of incompleteness occurs on the hair above Liberty's forehead. Housed in a former generation holder.

Population Data (3/15): NGC lists eight submissions in MS66 and two finer, while PCGS reports 10 MS66 representatives (one MS66+) and only a single MS67 finer.

Heritage Commentary: From a mintage of just 613,300 pieces, the 1903-S is one of the real stoppers in the Barber dime series, both in circulated and Mint State grades. Opportunities to obtain a coin as clean and attractive as this Premium Gem are seldom offered.
