Description

1907-S Dime, Delicately Toned MS66
Numerically Unsurpassed

1907-S 10C MS66 PCGS. CAC. Ex: Lily Nicole Collection. While the issue is generally found in nice condition, there are few 1907-S dimes in Gem or better grades. Strike is a fairly consistent problem with this issue, and this particular coin demonstrates that. It is not weak, as one might expect, but the devices on each side show a uniform softness of high point definition; one might theorize that the dies were set too far apart. Overall, however, this is a splendid coin and well-above average for the issue in terms of eye appeal. The surfaces are notably free from abrasions, and the mint luster enhances the rich aquamarine and golden toning seen on each side. Population: 8 in 66, 0 finer (2/15).
Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 5/2009), lot 509.
