Description

1909-S Barber Dime, MS67
One of the Two Finest Known

1909-S 10C MS67 PCGS Secure. CAC. With a mintage of just 1 million pieces, the 1909-S Barber dime is a slightly better date in the upper circulated grades and becomes genuinely scarce in Mint State. Gem or finer representatives are rarely seen. This magnificent Superb Gem is tied with just two others as the finest at PCGS; the finest at NGC are only three MS66 coins (7/15). The strike is boldly executed and the frosty surfaces yield luminous luster. Vivid lemon-gold and mint-green peripheral hues frame dusky lavender-gray centers, with no mentionable abrasions observed. This is the only Superb Gem we have ever handled, finer than both the Gardner coin and the Lily Nicole specimen. The Registry competitor should not let this piece pass by.
