Description
1909-S MS 65 NGC. A very scarce Barber dime that is seldom seen in mint state. In fact, the '09-S is seldom seen above VF. This issue is sometimes seen with soft striking details, a rather surprising fact considering how well struck most S-mint dimes are. This piece shows some of that loss of highpoint definition, but not to a distracting extent. The surfaces are deeply toned in shades of scarlet and cobalt-blue, colors that tend to obscure the few, tiny abrasions that are present. Population: 4 in 65, none are finer.
