    Description

    1911-D Dime, MS67+
    Popular D-Mint Type Issue
Sole Finest at PCGS, Ex: Gardner

1911-D 10C MS67+ PCGS. CAC. This well-produced issue from the Denver Mint is highly popular with mintmark type collectors. It is actually the most common of all D-mint Barber dimes in grades of MS65 and finer. But Superb Gems such as this example are understandably rare. This lovely 1911-D dime displays the highest degree of technical merit possible for the type. Both sides are essentially untoned, contrasting against ice-blue accents in the fields. The strike is sharp, and the intensely lustrous surfaces show smooth, exquisite preservation throughout. Population: 11 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer (3/16).
Ex: Purchased by Eugene Gardner from David Lawrence Rare Coins (12/2002); Eugene H. Gardner Collection, Part II (Heritage, 10/2014), lot 98325.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 23FK, PCGS# 4858)
