Description

1895 Barber Half Dollar, MS66+
The Finest We Have Handled

1895 50C MS66+ PCGS. CAC. Ex: Shireman / Hugon. The Gem is fully struck with golden-gray and pastel patina that allows for full appreciation of the coin's shimmering luster and abundant mint frost. Inspection with a glass reveals a few microscopic blemishes on Liberty's cheek, the only visible deterrent to potential Superb Gem status. We last handled this Premium Gem in 2005, noting: "One of the finer examples of this P-mint issue we have seen or handled." That remains true today. Population: 6 in 66 (3 in 66+), 1 finer (11/15).
Ex: John C. Hugon Collection / FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2005), lot 4208.
