Important 1897-S Half, MS62
1897-S 50C MS62 NGC. Bright luster exudes from both sides of this S-mint half dollar that exhibits nicely defined design elements, except for the usual softness in the upper right corner of the shield. Speckles of light tan color gravitate to the peripheries, more noticeable on the obverse. A combination of planchet striations and slide marks on Liberty's cheek likely accounts for the limited grade.
