1897-S 50C MS64 NGC. CAC. Ex: Richmond Collection. An
exquisite high end near-Gem that boasts rich honey-gold toning with
hints of ice-blue on the portrait. Lustrous and nicely struck with
a pristine reverse and only a couple of tiny ticks on the portrait.
Census: 38 in 64 (2 in 64+), 13 finer (6/13).Ex: Richmond Collection, Part III (David Lawrence, 3/2005), lot 1854, which realized $5,635.
