Difficult 1902-S Half Dollar, MS64
1902-S 50C MS64 PCGS. CAC. Relatively few 1902-S half dollars survive in the better levels of Mint State. This highly lustrous near-Gem is splashed with sea-green, gunmetal-blue, and golden-tan, mostly around the borders. The design elements are well struck except for weakness in the right part of the shield, the eagle's legs, and the right (facing) claw and adjacent arrow feathers. Minuscule handling marks limit the grade. Population: 7 in 64, 12 finer (9/09).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24MH, PCGS# 6494, GSID# 6599)
