1904 Barber Half Dollar, Patinated Gem

1904 50C MS65 PCGS. CAC. Contemporary collectors generally opted for proof Barber half dollars from the Philadelphia Mint to the exclusion of circulation strikes, explaining the rarity of the 1904 in high Mint States grades. This sharply rendered Gem has been carefully preserved over the course of its lifetime, showing originally toned surfaces in rich shades of violet, orange, and green. Bright mint luster shines through the patina. Population: 14 in 65 (2 in 65+), 7 finer (11/15).
