1905 Barber Half, Glistening MS67
Exceedingly Rare So Fine

1905 50C MS67 PCGS. CAC. This is a coin for the ages, one that is both Superb in color and surfaces. Note the interplay of iridescent green, gold and russet spanning the obverse and reverse, which come alive when examined under a light. Luster peeks through as the toning is neither dark nor thick. The design elements are well brought up throughout.

While not a particularly rare date, the mintage of 662,000 pieces keeps the 1905 Barber half in the scarcer-than-average class for the series. However, in this Superb Mint State condition, the issue is as rare as the lowest-mintage dates, with a grand total of two coins graded this high by PCGS, and one MS68+ coin finer; the finest at NGC are handful of MS66 pieces (9/15). CAC-approved in a green insert holder and worthy of the finest Barber half dollar collection.
