Description

Beautiful 1907-O Half Dollar, MS66

1907-O 50C MS66 PCGS. CAC. Nearly 4 million Barber half dollars were coined in New Orleans during the course of 1907, and more than 5 million were struck there in the following year. There was no other year in the history of the Barber series from 1892 to 1909 that the New Orleans Mint struck as many as 3 million half dollars. Despite the high mintage, few Gem or finer examples survive. PCGS has graded 13 MS65 coins, six MS66 pieces, and just one finer MS67 example.
Dale Friend chose this amazing MS66 for his collection, and it should certainly fit the need of nearly every other Barber collector. Both sides have frosty silver luster hidden beneath wonderful light green toning with accents of gold and pale lilac. It is exceptionally well defined for any Barber half dollar. Population: 6 in 66, 1 finer (10/08).
