Description
Exceptional Premium Gem 1907-O Barber Half
1907-O 50C MS66 PCGS. Ex: Eliasberg. This example traces back to the legendary Eliasberg Collection (as noted on the insert), and was likely purchased directly from the New Orleans Mint. The coin is splendidly toned in mottled coppery-orange hues that are a bit lighter on the reverse, with overall frostiness and smooth surfaces that must be seen to be truly appreciated. Although the mintage of 1907-O halves approached four million pieces, nearly all were heavily circulated and those few that were spared often suffer from shallow strikes. This Premium Gem example is a noteworthy exception. Population: 6 in 66, 1 finer (12/07). (Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24N2, PCGS# 6510, Greysheet# 6610)
Weight: 12.50 grams
Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
