Description

1909 Half Dollar, MS66+
Conditional Rarity

1909 50C MS66+ CACG. Among 1909-dated Barber halves from the three mints, this Philadelphia issue is the most available in absolute terms with a mintage approaching 2.4 million coins. Nevertheless, examples are scarce in Gem condition and very rare in this lofty grade. This carefully preserved and well-struck representative features delicate russet and purple toning toward the margins, while the centers remain largely brilliant. Nearly unknown finer.
