Description

Stunning 1909 Half Dollar, MS66
Tied for Finest PCGS Certified

1909 50C MS66 PCGS. CAC. Although PCGS has certified more than 300 Mint State 1909 half dollars, only 10 are certified MS66, and none have ever been graded finer. NGC has also never certified a finer example. While the Eliasberg Collection had a proof, Dale Friend's Premium Gem is finer than the Price and Pryor coins, and every bit the equivalent of the Hugon example.
This amazing piece has brilliant silver surfaces with reflective fields around satiny devices. Both sides have lovely gold, russet, and iridescent peripheries. It is boldly struck with full design details on both sides. Population: 10 in 66, 0 finer (10/08).
Ex: Heritage.
