Description
Pleasing 1911-S Half Dollar, MS66
1911-S 50C MS66 NGC. David Lawrence, in his Barber half dollar reference, calls the 1911-S "Underrated in MS." This Premium Gem exudes glowing luster from satiny surfaces that display hints of light gold-tan color. A solid strike sharpens the design elements, except for minor softness in the upper right corner of the shield and the eagle's left (right facing) claw and adjacent arrow feathers. Impeccably preserved throughout. Census: 1 in 66, 1 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24NF, PCGS# 6523, GSID# 6619)
