Repunched Mintmark 1911-S Half, MS65
The Only Coin So Graded by PCGS

1911-S/S 50C MS65 PCGS. FS-501. A newly-discovered repunched mintmark variety. Boldly struck overall, with a touch of softness noted on the hair detail just above Liberty's temple and forehead, and on the eagle's right (facing) talons. Satiny and lightly toned, with a subtle golden-gray cast across the carefully preserved, unmarked surfaces. PCGS has currently only identified one submission (the present coin) as the 1911-S/S variety. Population: 14 in 65, 7 finer (9/08) for all 1911-S half dollars.(Registry values: N4719)
