Description

1912-D Half Dollar, MS66
Beautiful Iridescent Color
Equal in Grade to the Duckor Coin

1912-D 50C MS66 PCGS. CAC. This 1912-D half dollar in MS66 PCGS is equal in grade to the Dr. and Mrs. Stephen L. Duckor Collection of Barber halves that we offered in August 2010, and in terms of color, we believe this piece has the upper hand. Beautiful iridescent color rings the rims on each side, contrasting against silver centers. There are no singular marks, and the strike is excellent overall while stopping just short of full. A small die crack runs laterally through the bust truncation. Population: 15 in 66 (1 in 66+), 0 finer (7/13). The Duckor Collection example in our Boston ANA Signature (Heritage, 8/2010), lot 3236, brought $5,750.
